Education Is the Foundation of Change
Sayam Foundation believes that education is the most powerful tool to break the cycle of poverty. In India, millions of children from low-income families are unable to attend school due to financial constraints, lack of awareness, and inadequate support systems. Our education programs are designed to bridge this gap by providing comprehensive support from enrollment to completion.
We work directly with communities, parents, and local schools to ensure that every child — regardless of their economic background — receives the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a brighter future. Our multi-pronged approach covers school enrollment assistance, after-school tutoring, merit-based scholarships, career mentoring, and dropout prevention.

Comprehensive Education Support Programs
School Enrollment Assistance
Many children in India never set foot in a classroom because their families cannot afford admission fees, uniforms, or basic supplies. Our school enrollment assistance program works with government and private schools to remove these barriers. We cover admission fees, provide required documents, and guide parents through the enrollment process so their children can begin their educational journey without delay.
- Covering admission and registration fees for children from BPL families
- Assisting with documentation such as birth certificates and Aadhaar cards
- Coordinating with school authorities for reserved seats under RTE Act
- Providing orientation sessions for first-generation school-goers
After-School Tutoring
Enrolling a child is only the first step — ensuring they actually learn is the real challenge. Our after-school tutoring program provides free academic support to children who struggle in crowded government classrooms. Qualified volunteer tutors and trained educators conduct daily sessions in mathematics, science, English, and regional languages at community learning centers across our project areas.
- Daily tutoring sessions at community learning centers
- Small batch sizes of 10-15 students for personalized attention
- Remedial classes for children who have fallen behind grade level
- Exam preparation support for board and competitive exams
Merit-Based Scholarships
Financial hardship should never stop a talented child from pursuing higher education. Sayam Foundation's merit-based scholarship program identifies bright students from underprivileged backgrounds and provides them with financial support to continue their education through college and professional courses. Our scholarships cover tuition fees, examination costs, and study materials.
- Annual scholarships covering full tuition for meritorious students
- Need-based additional support for books, hostel, and travel expenses
- Mentoring and career guidance for scholarship recipients
- Partnerships with colleges and universities for reserved seats
Career Mentoring & Guidance
Education without direction can leave young people lost. Our career mentoring program pairs underprivileged students with professional volunteers who provide guidance on career choices, skill development, and higher education pathways. Through one-on-one sessions, group workshops, and industry visits, we help students understand the opportunities available to them and how to achieve their goals.
- One-on-one mentoring with professionals from diverse fields
- Workshops on career planning, resume writing, and interview skills
- Industry visits and internship placement for senior students
- College application and admission guidance

How Our Education Programs Work
Sayam Foundation follows a community-driven, child-centric approach to education support. We don't just provide resources — we build ecosystems where learning thrives. Here is our step-by-step process:
-
1
Community Assessment: We identify underserved communities with high dropout rates and low enrollment through surveys and local government data.
-
2
Child Identification: Our field workers identify children who are out of school or at risk of dropping out through door-to-door campaigns.
-
3
School Linkage: We coordinate with nearby schools to secure admissions, negotiate fee waivers, and ensure seats under the Right to Education Act.
-
4
Academic Support: Children receive after-school tutoring, homework help, and exam preparation at our community learning centers.
-
5
Monitoring & Mentoring: Regular attendance tracking, parent-teacher meetings, and one-on-one mentoring keep children on track.
Keeping Children in School
India's school dropout rate remains alarmingly high, especially among girls and children from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities. Sayam Foundation's dropout prevention initiative identifies at-risk students and intervenes before they leave the education system. Our trained counselors work with families to address the root causes of dropout — whether it is child labor, early marriage, financial crisis, or academic struggles.
We provide emergency financial assistance to families in crisis, connect them with government welfare schemes, and offer flexible learning schedules for children who must balance work and study. Our re-enrollment drives have successfully brought back over 3,000 children who had dropped out of school into the formal education system.
For girls at risk of early marriage, we conduct awareness campaigns with parents and community leaders, highlighting the long-term benefits of education over early marriage. We also provide safe transportation and separate girls' study groups to address safety concerns that keep girls out of school.
- Emergency financial aid for families facing economic crisis
- Flexible class schedules for working children
- Re-enrollment drives for out-of-school children
- Girls' education awareness campaigns with community leaders
- Safe transportation facilities for girls in remote areas
